Qld: Heather Beattie pleads not guilty to drink driving
Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE's wife, HEATHER, has pleaded not guilty to drink drivingafter her doctor said medication may have played a part in her elevated blood alcoholreading.
Dr BEATTIE says she had intended to enter a plea of guilty to the charge but decidedotherwise after talking to her solicitor about her doctor's advice.
The 48-year-old was pulled over by a random breath testing unit last week, and allegedlyrecorded a blood alcohol level of 0.059 per cent.
Dr BEATTIE had admitted to having two glasses of wine with a light snack and drivingabout two hours later.
In Brisbane Magistrates Court today Magistrate BILL MACKAY ordered Dr BEATTIE to signan undertaking to return to court on May 7 next year for a review mention of the matter.
